A question that frequently comes up when a new client is considering learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare System is whether or not Groesbeck FertilityCare Center is able to accept insurance. Up until this point, this has not been something we have been able to implement due to a number of factors. Very recently however, two of our Certified FertilityCare Practitioners- myself and Karoline Heldt- have gone through the rigorous process of joining MyCatholicDoctor, which is a telehealth system of authentic Catholic care that allows us to teach the CrMS in the same manner we always have. The following are some FAQ to help bring clarity to this announcement:

·         How do I begin the process of learning the Creighton Model System via MyCatholicDoctor? The first step in this process is to find a NaPro Medical Consultant via MyCatholicDoctor who is licensed in the state you reside in (for most of us, that would be Michigan). We can certainly help you find a NaPro MC if you need some help/ recommendations!

·         I found a NaPro MC on MyCatholicDoctor…now what? The next step is to schedule an initial consult appointment with this physician. That will allow them to meet with you to discuss the various options of NFP as well as to discuss any current cycle concerns you may have. It would also be good to verify that the provider is in-network with your insurance. After that appointment, the NaPro MC will then set up a referral to a CFCP so the client can begin charting. If hoping to learn the Creighton Model with Karoline or myself, be sure to mention that to your NaPro MC at the time of your appointment.

·         I have completed the appointment with the NaPro MC and they have completed a referral…what’s next? Simply find Karoline or myself on MyCatholicDoctor and schedule an appointment with one of us through MyCatholicDoctor. This step is crucial so we can appropriately bill your insurance for the appointment. Under our respective profiles, there is a "Schedule an Insurance Appointment" link that conects clients directly to our MyCatholicDoctor scheduling pages (thanks Jenny!!!)

Clients who make an appointment via our regular GFCC bookings page will not be able to apply insurance.

·         I am already seeing a practitioner who is on MyCatholicDoctor…can I switch to seeing them via MyCatholicDoctor instead? Yes! Simply follow the steps listed below or reach out to your practitioner for extra guidance. Current and new clients who would prefer to keep seeing their CFCP via GFCC are certainly able to continue that as well. It is totally up to the client for what best fits their needs!

·         How do I know what my insurance will cover? MyCatholicDoctor has a whole page on their website explaining how insurance coverage works. It is best to consult that ahead of time as well as to verify that your insurance is accepted by the NaPro MC you are scheduled to see via MyCatholicDoctor. We are not able to give an estimate of what a client’s cost will be.

We are optimistic that having this option of accepting insurance will help to serve our clients with another option that best supports them and their financial situations. While currently just two of our CFCPs are able to serve our clients in this way, we are hopeful that more of Groesbeck’s wonderful practitioners will be able to offer this option for our clients as well. Reach out to myself or Karoline today if you have any questions!
