Continuing the Discussion: There is No Rule Book When it Comes to Avoiding
As a practitioner I have been asked many times, "is this a good reason to avoid?" And for a long time I did not know if I could really give a great answer. I know for myself it took me discerning and praying with my husband to make our decision to avoid, but that process may not be as clear cut for everyone. Fo awhile my simple answer was "that is between you (the couple) and God". Honestly I did not feel this was a good enough answer nor was I qualified enough to answer it.

The Long Road to Peace: My experience with the Creighton Model System
I first heard of the Creighton Model Fertility Care System in April of 2019. At that point in our marriage, my husband and I had three children. With my youngest turning one and breastfeeding officially ending, my menstrual cycle was back in full force with an a vengeance that had become the new "normal" after weaning my second baby over 2 years. For one week each month I would become an anxious, weepy mess, barely able to keep up with the demands of my life as a stay-at-h

The Decision to Avoid is a True Discernment Process
" If therefore there are well-grounded reasons for spacing births, arising from the physical or psychological condition of husband or wife, or from external circumstances, the Church teaches that married people may then take advantage of the natural cycles immanent in the reproductive system and engage in marital intercourse only during those times that are infertile, thus controlling birth in a way which does not in the least offend the moral principles which We have just ex

I'm too busy to chart... And does that even matter?
I'm too busy to chart. It's just one. more. thing. And it didn't get done again this month. I can't have one more thing on my plate clamoring for my time and attention. How much of this do I actually have to do for it to count? Will it still "work" if I get it done sometimes but not all of the time? You can do this I get it. Life feels nuts right now. I'm right there with you. Here's a slight perspective shift that might help. Have you ever been so busy that you didn't go to
